Also XFT hack with AA fonts enabled.

I don't see nothing new in your screenshot... except for the shadowed menu, all the other things can be easily achieved also in mdk 9.0... and crystal is much better than noia IMHO

I should show the control panel - which has more stuff in it for KDE 3.1

I guess the beauty of an icon set is a matter of taste.
