Yes, with a comment. There is a KLocate and a locate protocol for KDE, so it seems to me very easy just to put a switch into the dialog to allow to use locate database instead of searching disk. Or have also a third option - to locate files in locatedb and display results using META info from files on disk.

Mostly during the old times (Windows) I just called a picture blablablablabla and putted it somewhere, now it's hard to detect which picture is which so a thumbnail result in KFind would really help me :)

Don't use kfind directly but "Extras" -> "Search Files" in Konqueror. Then you'll get previews of your pictures (and any other files)!
