Description:

KeepassX is a port of the windows application "Keepass Password Safe" for Linux and Mac OS X.
It is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).

You can install Qt 4 parallel to Qt 3.

Another option is to use the binary bundle, it work witout installing Qt 4.

KWallet doesn't work [well] on OS X, and frankly the Keychain sucks anyhow.

This program does help with generating passwords securely for you, but beyond that, I don't really know.

Also, KWallet only works with KDE programs that support it. How can you track your passwords in other apps?

 font problem ?

by animimotus on: Jan 30 2007

Score 50%

Fonts are too small in a large screen like 1600*1200. They don't works with font defined by default in all the system.

I prefer at this moment Revelation (Gnome) although I'm on KDE 3.5.6

Imho, the GUI is better in Revelation too.

KeePassX uses the default Qt font. Run qtconfig and adjust the font and size as you like it.

Hi
Well with qt4-qtconfig it works now better :]
Thx for your reply.

Perhaps with a email area, one for hostname and one for the account type it could be plainly nice.

I've tried that but KeePassX doesn't not seem to be affected. :(

Any thoughts?

Disregard my previous post.

I discovered that I had two qtconfig files on my system (one for qt3 & another for qt4) and I had been adjusting the qt3 file. Using the qt4 config file solved the problem.

Thanks for the info. btw.

:)
