I like this simple glass look in the background and also the gear is fantastic.
Maybe a good style for some more wallpapers and other artworks ;)

 Suggestion

I think that the fact I voted "good" is an answer, isn't it ?

Maybe you can make 2 more things :
- provide the Blender source files
- replace the 2 glass things (the green and the yellow) by something, colorful too, but a little bit more complicated : do not use "straight edges", but use something like curves like if it was "eaten" by the gears.

Sorry for my poor description ... I see what I want to tell you but can't describe it easily without drawing it directly ;)

Nice piece of work! What did you use to make this? Is The Gimp acceptable to create such pictures?

First thank for your comment !
I just didn't use the Gimp at all, it's rendered from Blender from A to Z.

 win-flag?

The gears look very fine - but to me the background looks similar to the MS logo, the colored flag.

It was not the purpose... It's just too bad Microsoft took colors as common as the name of their operating system. Common, red, green, blue and yellow ! But maybe I should make a version with less colors (but it would lose a bit I think).
