Description:

Fast, clean, hard - the sound of breaking glass.

Brise-Glass is designed to maximize productivity and provide a crisp beautiful working environment. Enjoy.

Thanks to Witek Tarchalski for the metacity theme and icons.

at first i thought it would be not very different than the ana-theme, but it is a very good alternative. fast, usable, easy on the eyes. i like it a lot. thank you :)

You're welcome! Ana is a great and beautiful theme. Unfortunately it suffers from the underlying (svg) engine's sub-optimal performance... too bad because the art is great. I'm sure things will be improving in that area though.

Brise-Glace uses the smooth-engine which is in active development and will provide some great features in future releases.

Anyway though Ana (and all w-Tarchalski themes) are inspirational, Brise-Glace isn't intended to be a replacement. The Ana metacity theme just fits Brise-Glace perfectly, so I use it.

Glad you like it!

I've never noticed a diff between pixmap and svg performance. You can change the engine to pixmap and it works just the same or get the latest Ana. If what you mean is that it is and 'image' engine, and not just an engine well of course there's a performance hit. That's the price of eye candy. But you knew that. :D

 Screenshot Request

If you enjoy Brise-Glace, please post a link to a screenshot in "Comments". I don't think the two current shots do a good job of illustrating the theme.

Thanks,

What is the background in the Nautilus window, and where did you get it? I'm a big fan of the Celtic Knotwork designs and that one appears to be cool. Post a link if you don't mind.

Hmm... I don't quite remember. I (heavily) modified something I found on the net? Although I'm pretty sure it's 99% different from the original, it's true origins are unclear in my memory so I don't want to post it here...

Email me and I'll float you a copy.
