How did you configure it to be so clear?

Just thinking of the Apllication Icons in the window list or the icons in systray...

in the apearance dialog under interface you can set the menus to not show icons, the tasks just look so clear cause the icons are the same color as the panel, that's about it...remove all launchers
oh and yeah the notification area is hidden in a drawer with a transparent icon (the lil arrow next to the clock)

Could someone please tell me how he got the exaile song and his email to show up on the panel. I have gnubiff for emal and music-applet for music but neither of them look like that.

I'd say he's using Conky. Just do a search on this site for Conky and you'll see what it is.

Instead of using it to display heaps of info about his computer, it's just setup for music and email. propably MPD music player and a script for checking gmail.
