... I really think it should be called "the choice of the FSF" instead, way more fitting :)

Seriously, delete this! Or do we all start posting pics glorifying Hitler and Pol Pot? This is just bad taste at the least and intentionally offensive at the worst. This crap has nothing to do with Gnome or Linux. Is this gnome-look.org or commie-look.org?

Some people are ridiculous. Stalin of course was a stain on human history.

However to argue that this has nothing to do with linux or gnome therefore it should be deleted is simply stupid. What do flowers or swirls have to do with gnome or linux? At least this wallpaper mentions linux, unlike the army of ubunu advertisements that spam this site everyday.

Oh, and if you want to talk about offensiveness lets discuss the rampant sexism and exploitation of women in wallpapers here. How about the army of naked women with Ubuntu logos pasted onto them?

This wallpaper is obviously supposed to lampoon anti-free-software zealots, not to support stalin. If you want to condemn people on the site for being offensive at least target genuinely offensive wallpapers, not jokes.

If what you say is true then why are pro-Nazi images deleted from the site? Seriously can you not understand the difference here? Are you saying that gnome-look mods prefer one mass murderer over another? Promotion of Genocide is okay as long as it is done for a Communist cause?

Why the hell cant u see its a joke! I guess that most Linux users have heard the comment about communism from time to time, and the wallpaper is a joke to that.

Would u be more happy if i use Lenin rather than Stalin or would u still find that offensive?!

Well i guess this is what you get for being controversial. It is impossible to please everybody all the time. But seriously Thorson if you have that big of a problem with this, then report it to an admin.

For me Stalin is first of all a mass-murderer, but he is also the personalization of the philosophy of communism (much like Eric Stallman is for the GNU philosophy). And thoug what happened in USSR were at least as bad as what happened in Nazi-Germany, the philosophy behind Nazism is not admirable and can therefore not be compared this way.

I bet that most of us, at some point been called communists for sharing our programs, imagery, knowledge etc. etc. (i know i have plenty of times!). But then again, i come from a contry (Denmark) that have a very relaxed perception of communism. And when mentioned we thinks more about the communist philosophy that what happened in Soviet Russia (or at least i do, ask theslayer84 he's from here as well).
