Description:

This is an image of a moth taken at Callaway Garden's Georgia. The photo was actually taken by my sister with her Canon Digital Rebel and edited in GIMP by myself. Please let me know what you think because I am thinking of doing an entire nature theme for KDE under the GPL.

Actually, not to nitpick, but that is not a moth. It's morphology indicates it's a butterfly.

I'm neither a butterfly nor moth expert, sorry. In fact, my sister took the photograph at Callaway Gardens. She told me it's a moth, so, I called it a moth. All I did was edit the original photo to give more depth perspective, better framing, and some color (as the original was a little desaturated). I thought it made a nice wallpaper so I decided to submit it. Thank you for your insight though---The more we learn, the more we realize how little we know :)

Nice photo, try to improve your focus.

If you do a complete gallery, don't forget the thumbnails.

.. but try to improve depth of field by using a higher aperture
as i can see from the exif it's just f/5.6 which is in general too less for a macro .. don't use auto mode, or you won't have real control over your cam..
that's what i learned first when i got my dslr: learn the modes where you can control it better .. and not use it like a point and shoot digicam..
maybe tell that your sister ;)

this looks great, but the lighting is too synthetic in appearance, if you ask me. try for more natural lighting.
