Description:

I thought I would show that you don't always need to use blue to have a nice looking desktop. I'm using Noia Warm Icons, Galaxy window decorations, Keramik style, my own color scheme and kicker tile, and QuakeLinux wallpaper.

The preview image is smaller, so it will be quicker to load then the download image.

--Sorry, I had to use *.jpg images instead of *.png files (*.png files were to large to upload).

Changelog:

I just added a second screenshot of my NonBlue Desktop with Slicker in action. Slicker may be very beta, but it is definitely cool.

Whatever?? Its just a screenshot.

 Noia warm!

 by Chris308 on: Mar 4 2003

I too started getting a little sick of my bluish desktop.
I installed the Noia warm icons, warmish color theme to the
windows and matching wallpaper. At first I thought that this
wasn't going to be my thing, but I noticed that I have logged
in more this week as the account with these settings than my regular
account. Now if I could find a good xmms matching skin!

Galaxy Window Decorations are available as RPMs from Mandrake for both KDE and GNOME here are the URLs:

KDE
http://speakeasy.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/cooker/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/galaxy-kde-0.2-7mdk.i586.html

GNOME
http://speakeasy.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/cooker/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/galaxy-gnome-0.2-7mdk.i586.html

Source RPMs are available, so hopefully they will work with various distros.

Here are some links to some of the items I used to decorate my desktop like that;

Wallpaper:

Icons:

Slicker (being used in the second screenshot):

The color scheme and kicker tile were both created by me, and I will email them to you. If you need any help configuring everything please just email me back.

We have secretly switched the dilithium crystals in the Enterprise's warp core with Folger's crystals.

Let's see what happens.....
