Description:

This will display and change your MAC address to a user supplied or random value.

Created with kommander 1.3.0. Not sure if it works with previous versions.
Must be executed with the kdesu command.

Example
kdesu kmdr-executor /home/someDIR/mac.kmdr

As this script is executed using root privileges it is good practice to inspect the script for malicious content. With that being said there is nothing in the script that can harm your computer. A reboot will restore your original MAC if you forget its value and want to change it back.

Changelog:

v.02

Removed requirement for Kdialog.
Reduced displayed size.
Fixed some stuff that was not gridded.

v.03
Removed graphics
Slim downed design
Removed most colors
Dynamic Nic selector
Added the ability to Backup/Restore a MAC
Added the ability to cycle the NIC up down
Thanks to Gecko for the dymanic interface

Yes, it works wonderfull.
But its to collerfull and to big.
Could you make a more slim frontend. And with the default system colors?
And the devices on the lefhand side are not dynamicly it shows me 6 devices but i have only one.

I don't think its too colourful, its nice to see some eye candy sometimes! Works perfectly, only one question : is there a way I can use this without switching from Knetwork manager?

colorful does not mean eye-candy itself. If you like colors, then set them in your system preferences, but 5 colors in one gui dialog is just much to much.

Not sure I understand the question.

This script is independent of knetwork manager and should work along side of it.
It takes the network down, changes the MAC and brings the networkback up.

The problem is that when I try to change mac address, if my settings are set that Knetwork manager manages my network, it will not allow the mac to be changed. It says something about not being able to take down the network.
