Yes colors are great now, but i've one thing to say. I think the shape is too complicated to make a really good icon.
Perhaps you should arrange these colored dots in another way so that the icon consists of an easier shape.

Greetings Matthias

ILM "for now"

I have been looking for a KDE native IM client and thought this would be my solution. There is still a lot of work left to be done to this client before I can let go of Everybuddy.

putting the dots ON the corners of the dialog box? Seperate pieces don't make for a good icon I don't think, and it would look much more smooth if it was just one piece with the dots over the corners of the dialog box.

you (and matthias) are maybe right about the tradition how icon should look (consistent shape, no holes in it, etc.) but if i would change it the whole original idea would gone and the icon will have no symbolisation as i created it:
my explanation of the icon (why it looks how it looks) is:
- four marbles represents four different IM systems (no matter which ones) = Kopete is multiprotocol chat klient
- these marbles also represents four users/heads "sitting" together (but still not so close in fact) and chatting about something = Kopete is multiuser chat client
- one marble (user head) says something (we know what ;)) in typo inside the comic bubble = Kopete uses text to chat/send messages and emoticons
- in addition to that all: when you look on the whole icon forgetting what it really shows (close your eyes a bit) you can find this:
when you connect these marbles by a virtual line (upperleft->bottomleft, then following the direction of bottom bubble shape right up to upperright red and one line from the center by the bubble-tail to bottomright blue, imagine they compose a letter "K" = stands for Kopete

i hope this explains why i don't want to destroy the composition...

luci
