I like this one, really: clean and simple.

The only downside: the dark version isn't really as good as it's light counterpart. Could you maybe try some lighter colors on the logo (like white/gray) to see if the it, and the lines, come out a bit more? The light one is very good in the color department.

I felt that it is a great start but it could use some improvements... First add a little bit more color and make every thing stand out better. Maybe use the Kmenu icon from the crystal icon set, you can make it blue if that looks better with your wallpaper. And on the stuff in the background give them a nice outline. And maybe even a version with out the gradient in the background. And possible add a quote or some more cool looking stuff in the background.

The new one, with the blueish background, is in my opinion not as good as the white one: something's just bothering me about the dark gear in the background which doesn't really blend in with the rest of the background. I haven't got any suggestions readily available, but I still like the light version you made initially!
