Description:

---------------
TO EVERYONE LOOKING AT THIS PAGE: DON'T JUST VIEW THE MOCKUPS, READ THE DESCRIPTION AND POST YOUR IDEAS PLEASE.
---------------

I don't know if such tool already exist, but I'll take a chance. The Entreprise Manager is a tool that I propose could be intergrated in KDE4. It would make interactions inside an enterprise more efficient... Since I am no good in explaining in english, take a look at the mockups. I hope you'll understand. If you don't, ask me questions. As always, thanks to Eriol for his mockup.

Also, give me your commentaries and rate my work.

Thanks,

Upsilon

//////////////////////////////////////
FEW OTHER IDEAS:

1. Ability to see if user offline/online, absent, busy etc...

2. Ability to optionnaly have a server that saves any file/message IF a member was offline during the initial data emission. Example:
2.1 User A message to user B
2.2 User B = offline = can't receive file = can't access potentially important data
2.3 Server saves message and waits for User B to connect
2.4 User B connects
2.5 Server automaticly sends User A's message to User B

(When I say server, I mean machine server, and not a service running on user A's machine.

3. Ability to view the company's hierarchical structure, instead of a list. Think of it as a family tree.

4. Ability to setup audio and video conferences.

5. SHOULD... no: NEEDS, absolutly needs to have very strong authentification/packet encryption etc... We don't want any unauthorized users to access the company's data. If we want such tool to be really used by real companies, it needs to be rock-solid.

6. MAYBE we could also integrate a VPN functionnality with it, so that you could access your company's EM network everywhere...

7. Make use of SuperKaramba and have a widget that shows various informations onto the desktop, such as an "Emergencies list". This could be an optional addition to a systray icon.

8. A networked agenda could be available. Example:
8.1 - User A has a meeting in conference room 2 at 2:45.
8.2 - User A writes this in network agenda.
8.3 - User B (Vin Diesel) sees network agenda.
8.4 - User B (Vin Diesel) won't plan a meeting in conference room 2 at 2:45.
----- This could be a daft example, but I'm sure you get to point.

9. Basecamp's features could be integrated and adpated for EM... www.basecamphq.com (this isn't really a proper idea, but I guess it's necessary for EM to be usable)

I might add some later...

 Great!

This is a good idea for all users.

It would also have to include support for wireless networks (ad-hoc and infastructure).

This way people running laptops will be able to chat, and share files.

Also, I was just using Windows Vista (beta 2) and noticed a program that allows chat and file sharing between two computers with an ad-hoc network. However, it was not geared towards the enterprise.
It would be great if This program would be compatable with the Vista one.

Great idea!

Use Unix. Use Linux. Use Debian. Use KDE.

 Todo lists ...

And Basket.
I've just discovered this KDE app, and i've seen it's been integrated into Kontact.
So, EM may alow anyone to share a basket list.

In fact, It seems to me that the EM imagined here is a GUI for using more jabber capabilities than just an instant messager, and integrate it to Kontact.

Does somenone did look at the akonadi project, should it integrate such tools?
