Description:

Currently, there are no KDE theme files, which contain everithing you need for a theme. With everything I mean

- window decoration
- stile
- icons
- wallpaper
- fonts(?)

KDE4 should bring 3-4 full theme files and make it very easy to generate new ones.

I would also like to see a "Get new stuff" within every kcontrol module for icons, window decos, styles and fonts. Installing should be as easy as klicking on "install" after seen a preview.

Btw: "Download" is just the screenshot. So no download needed.

The thing is.. if you are good with this kind of things you can make your desktop look awesome on linux(I moved over from windows some time ago).. But if you are partialy color blind for example (like I am) or if you just don't have an artistic feeling for things... well then you can just keep sobing at screenshots with allmost no chance to get that on your desktop. For me for example it is very hard to match colors with icons so that thy don't look out of place... it takes me a very loong time and I have to go thru a loot of diferent styles and themes before I can consider myself happy with wat I have. And it wold be great to be able to save those settings in case I want to install linux at work for example or in case I want to move to another distro...
oh.. and it's not just about icons and that stuff... it wold be great to have even keyboard shortcuts, widgets, and pannel settings saved as well....

I think what you mean is to have all the parts of a theme in one place or at least access to the neded parts.
the .kth file contains an xml doc that is a list of all the parts and some basic settings
icon set, cursor, widget style, background, colors, panel config etc.
it does not have the data like icon images and so on just the common name of the pkgs or sets.
so we need verification to make sure we have all the parts needed by a theme.
the dependencies tag of a theme should contain the required information, that is up to the author
docs on desktop themeing would be good, but, I think it could be addressed by making an rpm or dist pkg for a theme that has the dependencies set up right,
instead of distributing the config file (.kth)

investigating...
