KDE Icon Theme

Score 78%
HumanityPNG

Downloads:  2371
Submitted:  Nov 4 2009
Updated:  Oct 7 2010

Description:

Humanity Icon theme converted to PNG to work with kde4 in karmic (4.3.2 - version 0.1) and maverick (version 0.2).

Licence is GPL as the original Authors posted.

I take absolutely no credit for any artwork included.

*offers beer to the elders of the internet* ;)

Changelog:

07.10.2010: Added the script I wrote/used. Don't laugh at my ridiculous bash skills! ;)

07.10.2010: Updated the whole thing using the current status (maverick) of the Humanity Icon theme.

I am not running KDE myself currently, so please let me know if there are any issues (like firefox or whatnot acting up)

Hope you enjoy it.

wow! this is beautiful!

good work!

there's just one little thing: when you click on an item in dolphin, you get a little preview. the icon which is shown there could be a little sharper.

but anything else... perfect :)

Yes, true.

Problem here is: The original Humanity theme does not provide high-resulution icons for everything (64x64 and up) and contains a lot of scaled down(!?!) svg images. I did not quite understand the reasons for scaling scalable graphics, but I used the best-available ones for each png file.

Unless I find something like "the 256x256 versions" of the Humanity icons to scale from, I am aftraid I cannot make sharper ones for the dolphin preview pane. :(

Plasma is the desktop space in kde4+
It is used to render the bar, the widgets on the desktop and the folder-icon-containers.
The plasma theme determines what those components look like.

In my case it is a mixture out of three themes (you can mix and match under Systemsettings->advanced->design details):
BlackGlass (most of it)
Perfection

This icon theme just kick a**. It brings some freshness to kde. The only problem i have noticed so far is when i try to open software-center which I have installed on kde. I get this error

py", line 144, in __init__
No command 'File' found, did you mean:
Command 'vile' from package 'vile' (universe)
Command 'kile' from package 'kile' (universe)
Command 'zile' from package 'zile' (universe)
Command 'file' from package 'file' (main)
File: command not found
:~$ icon = AnimatedImage(self.icons.load_icon("computer", self.ICON_SIZE, 0))
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
:~$ glib.GError: Icon 'computer' not present in theme
glib.GError:: command not found

While the icon not being present in the theme might be true - as I said I only moved the original humanity ones and converted them to png - this error sounds somewhat mor of something worse withing softwarecenter?
The theme should just pick one of the fallback, and if all fails, the default one.

Download link seems to be dead. Can you upload the package on kde-look.org?

Thank you
