Dynamic Dictionary

KDE4 Brainstorm

Description:

I love the widespread use of the Spellchecking in KDE. But I have a suggestion as to how to make this functionality better.

KDE should maintain two dictionaries: the standard one as it is now, and a more dynamic one which pulls words from useful sources such as contacts (names, emails, nicknames, etc) and other such sources.

This would eliminate unnecessary false positives by the spellchecker.

 even more dynamic

I like this idea, and would go even further.

It would be great if the language used to check a text would change to the language causing minimal error count. It often happens to me, that I'm writing some text in english and everything is red, because of my default language (german). Perhaps the solution would be a priority list of languages that should be used to check a text.

cheers

Hate to be a sheep but I completely agree (English/Swedish here). However, wouldn't it be better if this (at least the language part) were integrated directly into aspell rather than kde?

It seems that I was the first to be sheep:

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66516

This bugreport covers exactly the mentioned topic. It exists since 2003 and is stated to be new?! :-(

Seems as if it will take some time 'til this great feature will be implemented.

regards.

P.S.: I hope there were no mistakes in here, everthing is just so red ;-)
