Description:

I was thinking about some of the KDE 4 mockups (see below) and realized that many of them have a "clean" look to them.I think The title-bar should be part of the window, not just "a thing on top". All the "Pieces" (like sidebars, buttons, menus, etc.) of the window should be flowing and connected.

I think that a simple way to apply the look of the mockups would be to make a clean theme+windowdec, then only more "minor" changes would have to be done on the actual apps (for the look at least).

See my screenshot for a better Idea.

Thanks for any feedback. ;)

~~~Screenshots that helped me think~~~
 Border color
I agree with you... there are too many edge! But I think that simply making them softer and with customizable color, will solve the problem. Also, in KDE3 I cannot have a totally black environment with shiny pink edge (oh, God...) if I want to.
(Forgive my poor english ;-) )
Everything (from gadgets to whatever) is going to be slimmer with a more customizable look & feel. I agree with you!
Hi, i dont think, that the shots from the fosdem presentation are oxygen like, it is still only the new dolphin file manager and the svg surface...
the released alpha (kludge) has only some parts of solid, ... included (the shots are from kludge, im sure)
as far as i know, the new icons and the plasma style will be part of the next preview release.
i think before the next preview, we should not try to get an image of how our dream of kde4 will look like.
i hope the kde team will have a look in here and recognize how many people really like to have an less geeky gui for kde4...
i like kde, but im on a mac, apple iss really great in building simple and usable user interfaces...
i think the magic word in many parts of kde is just "simplicity" ... many things at the moment are too fully loaded for daily use i think
