Description:

Hey..
I don't know if there is something like that already..

But here is my Idea:

There would be a little Icon in the GNOME-Panel, where you can drag&drop active Applications you don't need very often, such as the download window of Firefox..

If you want to select an Application you dropped there, easily click on the icon in the panel, there you can select the application you want..

So you have space for more important applications..

EDIT: You can see the Application-Container on the bottom right corner of the Mockup! ;)
This is not to launch Applications!

Sorry for my English! Please report me about mistakes! =)

If there isn't such an Idea already, please don't copy mine under another name.
Thanks ;)

 Well-done mockup but...

Already exists. It's called a "drawer." Simply add a "drawer" applet to the panel, and then it behaves like a hybrid of a pull-down menu and an extra gnome panel. You can drag and drop more launchers to it and everything.

Although, I've always wanted text labels on panel launchers.

oh, i read your post again, and remarked that you could mean something else. Yes, i know that i can drag & drop launchers to the drawer..

but my Idea is, that I can drag & drop opened applications (tasks, or how I could say in english) in such an applet, because I need the space in my panel.

for example when I download something, which takes many hours, i can drag & drop the download manager in it.

..so i have mor Space for more important Applications ;)

or I understand you wrong?

i know, my english is very bad, sorry.. =(

Thanks for the two programs.. ;)

..but do you know what happens if I click on the left half of the Firefox Icon (on the first Screenshot of "DockbarX")?

Raises up all the windows of the application which icon is half-shaded... but not only for Firefox... the half-shaded icon means that one or more windows (eg. the Firefox Downloads window) of that application are minimized.

P.S.: It isn't necessary clicking on shaded side of the icon to raise up all the windows (shaded or not).
