Description:

/!\ needs python kde bindings (provided with kde 3.3 bindings)

A light program that reads the addressbook file and provides a system tray icon which allows to quick search and display contacts. I wrote it because i found kaddressbok loading time to long to only find a phone number.

The edit button launches kaddressbook

The strings are written in french, feel free to translate :)

1.0 - changed ktextedit for ktextview and added links for mail addresses

1.1 - added the update entry in the systray menu

1.1.1 - fixed a little bug, the firts contact is now selected by default

I don't need such an app because I leave kontact ever opened.
But, this is a good demonstration of the use of KDE bindings for python :-)

I haven't tested your app, but it looks like KickPIM to me.
Isn't it the sample application?

yes, in fact i discoverd kickpim via dot.kde.org after that i wrote this script. however, kickpim has informations i don't use like birthdays...i admit this isn't very interesting for other users than me :)
