Considering that MySlax Creator is a WinXP program, I'd say you're looking at a themed WinXP desktop made to look similar to KDE or IceWM. The taskbar is the XP taskbar and the windeco is WinXP style |

I personally think the default XP look is sort of cartoonish. Why not aim higher and try to emulate the look of some of the modified XP themes? Some of them are very well done. If you want a real challenge, try to duplicate some of the Litestep shell themes -- it might be possible with E, but KDE isn't flexible enough for some things. |

Check the description...this isn't for Mandrake. I did it on Peanut Linux, which is sort of Slackware/LFS distribution. The best distro that doesn't hog your entire hard drive with useless cruft. Full system with KDE3 + Koffice about 550 megs installed...most stuff pre-configured. I mainly put this up here so the Peanut folks could check it out. |

Stardock is just playing on the alternative-shell community that has been around for a while with Windows. Most of those icons were developed by individuals for general use. Some were done by Stardock. It's a shame that Linux doesn't have the kind of theme/graphics guys that the Windows Litestep community has. Come to think of it, it's a shame we don't have a desktop shell as light and customizable as Litestep.... |
