Some soundcards support vumeters in hardware (eg ice1712, ice1724) - would it be possible to rip out the current vumeter and only add it for cards that do support it directly (using it the way it's supported, ice1712 based cards support hardware metering independent for every i/o)?

Check, for example, envy24control, the official ALSA control panel for ice17xx cards, to see how this is done...

If I'm not all mistaken, most modern graphic chips support at least 4096x4096 texture resolution...

SGI 1600SW 17.3" 16:10 TFT... :-) But my father also has a notebook (Acer, IIRC) with native 1600x1024 resolution.

OK, I fixed it (linking the db header to usr/include, adding asm/errno.h to the includes).

Really great stuff! A little unstable, but a great start nevertheless!

Complie error...
Oct 18 2004  on content KLibido (Usenet binaries downloader)

This is exactly what I was looking for, as BNR2 doesn't work on Linux/ AMD64 anymore - great stuff!!!

But it doesn't compile for me. First, it complains because it couldn't find some db headers (on gentoo, the headers are in /usr/include/db4.1, not just /usr/include). That was easy to fix, but now I get:
---
headerlist.cpp: In member function `void HeaderList::loadGroup(Db*)':
headerlist.cpp:91: error: `ENOMEM' undeclared (first use this function)
headerlist.cpp:91: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in.)
headerlist.cpp: In member function `void NewHeaderList::loadGroup(Db*)':
headerlist.cpp:335: error: `ENOMEM' undeclared (first use this function)
headerlist.cpp: In member function `void NewHeaderList::slotDownloadSelected(bool, bool)':
headerlist.cpp:431: error: `ENOMEM' undeclared (first use this function)
headerlist.cpp:479: warning: right-hand operand of comma has no effect
headerlist.cpp: In member function `void NewHeaderList::markAllAsRead(Db*)':
headerlist.cpp:759: error: 'class Db' has no member named 'get_env'
headerlist.cpp: In member function `void NewHeaderList::markGroupAsRead()':
headerlist.cpp:882: error: 'class Db' has no member named 'get_env'
headerlist.cpp:919: error: 'class Db' has no member named 'get_env'
make[2]: *** [headerlist.o] Error 1
---
Any ideas what the problem might be? I'm using gcc 3.4.2 on gentoo/ AMD64.

Same problem here. Inkscape works, but Evolution and envy24control (control panel for ice1712 soundcards) always segfault. I'm running KDE 3.2.2 with QT 3.3.2 on gentoo/ AMD64.
The CVS version worked fine for me 'till 2004-06-14...
