hi, i'm not sure if this belongs here, but i asked in the crystal svg post, but no one responded. I wanted to know as far as editing original svg icons, i assume i can use karbon14? Is the svg icons being used when you install Crystal SVG beta1 in the .svgz files in $KDE_HOME/icons/crystalsvg/scalable/... ?
if so, how do i open them? are they standard zipped/gzipped? Do i need special tool for unpackaging them?

i am a former contributer of the crystal icon set and am looking foward to submitting icons to the new svg set. however i do not have any idea, what program(s) are required to make an svg icon. As well, a how-to would be very helpful. Anyone can give me some intel to get started? |

well to make the circular crystal icon(s), i used the gimp xcf example provided here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=1566
The others were done just by look and feel. I used my judgement on what would fit with the theme as a whole. Hope this helps. Good luck on with your endeavors! |

Ah... i found the problem. Go to your $KDEDIR/share/apps/klipper/pics/ and replace the icon there (should be named klipper_dock.png) That should do it. Make sure that the new icon is named the same (klipper_dock.png).
As for the battery icon, i am not that good at anything art related but i'll see what i can do. |

i have yet to get the icon in the kicker system tray to change to the new one i made. I intended to replace the old one (obviously) but am curious as to why it doesn't use the crystal version of the icon provided.
For now it will only replace the K menu icon. When i figure this out i will let you know.
Perhaps someone here knows how to get the icon to change? |
