CD number is not used
Jun 7 2012  on content Cantata

When adding an album the CD numbers are not used. So tracks of double CDs are sorted like this in the playlist:
01 - track 1 of cd1
01 - track 1 of cd2
02 - track 2 of cd1
02 - track 2 of cd2
...

Re: Re: 3 requests about album arts

1. OK, I should check this with another icon theme. For me it did not show any cd icon. But still it will be a problem if icon size changes.

2. I understand. Maybe the header can have more than one line? E.g. the album year in the second line. This would increase the tiny size.

3. I have plenty of memory and I love album arts :D OK, this is not really important.

3 requests about album arts
Apr 17 2012  on content Cantata

Hi, I think the new version (0.6.1) has improved much, thanks for that :)
And I have another 4 requests:
1. In library view there should be a place holder for the album art that is shown while the arts are loading. The place holder should have the same size like the album arts. At the moment the search results are moving further down as soon as the album arts appear.
2. Make size of the album arts in the grouped album view (playlist) configurable, too.
3. Add an bigger maximum size for all album arts
4. On hovering the album art in the upper left corner a higher resolution image could be shown (e.g. 500 px)

Thanks and keep up the good work!

I'm doing this at least 10 times a week but I could probably write a small tool with systray icon for this task myself.

1. Well, I'm using one soundcard connected to my hifi stereo and one sound card connected to my headphones amp. So I can disable the output to the stereo while using the headphones.
Another use case that comes to my mind is enabling http stream output for friends while listening.
These are IMHO cool features in mpd that make mpd unique ;)

OK, thanks for explanation.

Re: Re: Feature requests

1. Ouch, I've forgotten a word :) I've meant quick access to activated sound outputs. GMPC has a menu entry for it and I'm using it to activate/deavtivate mpd's output to various sound cards
2. Actually it is not important which one is the artist or title. Of course a song called "Floyd - Wish you were pink" would be found, too. But still it would be more intutive to search for songs. E.g. GMPC offers a search option "any" to search all tags and it's the default behaviour of Amarok and Exaile.
3. Any chance to recognize the first image found in the album folder? ;)
4. Well, I'm using the comment tag for extended infos about the recording, e.g. "2012 remastered version", but that stuff is just cosmetic.

Feature requests
Mar 20 2012  on content Cantata

I also have some feature request:
1. A button for quick access to activated, e.g. opening a radio list like in GMPC
2. Make library search configurable to search all tags at once (at least artist, album and title). So I can search for "pink floyd wish" to find the "Wish You Were Here" album or track.
3. I really don't like my music player to make changes to my music folder, so I don't think automatically writing cover arts directly to the music folder is a good idea. Also my cover arts are not named "cover.jpg", but most times $ALBUMNAME.jpg/png
4. Finally a rather unimportant one: make the cover art in the upper left corner bigger, add more tag infos besides the buttons: comment, file type, bitrate

As long time Amarok user and fan this project finally seems to provide a good GUI for mpd :-)

Kde and ReplayGain
Mar 20 2012  on content Cantata

I've built without KDE support and got this message:
"Building WITHOUT KDE support - Device Sync, Track Organizer, ReplayGain, and CommandLine support DISABLED"

Why is ReplayGain disabled? This is handled by mpd anyway, isn't it?
