Windows Howto
Nov 19 2003  on content OpenOffice 1.1 pseudo-static themer

To get the script to execute in windows, do the following...

1) Install ImageMagick from here http://www.imagemagick.org/

2) Install ActiveTcl from here
http://www.activestate.com/Products/Download/Download.plex?id=ActiveTcl

3) Edit the file bkColor.tcl and change "exec convert" to the following
exec "c:/Program Files/ImageMagick-5.5.7-Q8/convert"

Windows has a file in c:\windows\system32\convert.exe which ActiveTcl wants to run instead of the ImageMagick program. So you just need to point it to the right file.

everything stands out very well... the screenshot makes it look very busy, but it doesn't need to be.

I also like the way the window buttons pulsate.

HERE IS SOME HELP
Apr 23 2003  on content TeaX 0.2.1

Here, from someone who is still fairly new to all this... I will provide some tips for installing this.

First of all, download the tarball and extract it to your home directory...

Then, follow the instructions in the INSTALL file.

If you get any errors during this process (which is likely unless you are a KDE developer who already has all the necessary development packages installed), it is probably because you are missing some needed packages.

This was my problem... After some searching on google with the various error codes, here is what I had to do:

apt-get install autoconf automake xlibsdev libqt-dev kdelibs-dev

That is a Debian command, but if you are running a different distribution, you can probably translate the package names to your own (e.g. in Mandrake, dev=devel). Remember that you must be root to run this command in Debian.

After finally getting it to install, the menus still were not translucent, even after checking Look & Feel: Teax Transparency in the Control Center...

That is because there is one more step... Open the Control Center, go to Look & Feel: Styles and select "Teax" in the "Widget and Style" box.

Click Apply and you should have translucent menus... though only with KDE-specific programs, not with your general X-windows programs, like Mozilla.

It is quite nice. Hope this makes it easier for someone out there.
