KDE is the best by far. the most customizable desktop, as you can see by the image a few posts back. The only probalem is with desktop switching. Currently, there is only an on/off option for hitting the side of the screen and switching desktops. I think enlightenment has set the standard! you don't have to wrap, you can change the arrangement of desktops (as opposed to changing panel size), you can make it ANIMATE!
anyway i would run enlightenment but i don't have it (redhat 7.3 :(

You go to the "effects" tab under "style" (control center) then you click menu effect and change to "make translucent". :)

I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but it hasn't seemed to break anything yet ;)
I symlinked /usr/local/kde to /usr
That's on my vanilla rh7.3 system...

this is so awesome!
I like the idea of choosing your own background colour.
Can u make a 1024x768 version? because it looks a bit warped if i set to scaled, and too pixelated if i set to centered.
