The install script doesn't work in OpenSuse because Suse's qt4 version of qmake is simply named 'qmake', not 'qmake-qt4'.
Perhaps the install script should fall back to qmake if qmake-qt4 isn't available.

If you are getting that error and you are sure that all instances of Synaptic and Adept are closed, it probably means one of those programs crashed so you'll need to go to the command line and kill the remaining process.
killall synaptic
killall adept
should do it. If all else fails, reboot! |

This can already be done easily.
From your home directory run these commands:
mv Desktop Desktop_bak
ln -s . Desktop
killall kdesktop
kdesktop &
Now you will have your home directory as your desktop.
I think a better option might be to create links on your default desktop to the directories in home that you want access to. Or use the Universal sidebar. Personally, I'd like to have a Basket sidebar or even a Basket desktop. That would rock!
If you want to undo the commands above to restore your default desktop, do this from your home directory:
rm Desktop
mv Desktop_bak Desktop
killall kdesktop
kdesktop & |
