| ![-](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Re: Great Jul 5 2007 on content KScriptPanel | Hi Stefan,
many thanks for your help.
OK, lets start with the "Show Examples" problem. I am using Kubuntu, and the exapmles are saved in /usr/share/doc/kommander/examples. The command for the "Show Examples" button is 'locate -n 1 kommander/examples' and it will only give an output if locate finds a directory structure kommander/examples. Maybe your examples directory is saved somewhere else. Please let me know where your examples are stored, so that I can fix this error.
You are right about the gui design. This is a problem too. KScriptPanel grew up with the time. I added new functions at the moment when I discovered that I need such a function. The gui will be changed, when all usefull options are insert.
It seems that you have a lot of good ideas, and as you mentioned would it be hard for a single person to manage a kommander script collection. In my summer holiday (4 weeks *YEAH*), I want to rent a vserver (seems to be enough for such a small project) for hosting the kommander-fanpage . Maybe you want to help me with building up a Kommander script page :).
If you want, you can contact me via ICQ or email, then we can talk german :).
Greets,
Sascha

thanks for your comment.
Nice to hear that it runs on other systems too :). I made KScriptPanel on a Kubuntu 7.04 system and it would be great to hear that it works on non-Debian based distributions too.
KScriptPanel has a simple download function for kmdr scripts - just activate the download radio button and enter the url to the kmdr script. But I guess you mean an overview of the available scripts on kde-apps...
I have plans for such an application, but I am not sure how to realize it. Show all kmdr scripts from kde-apps or just a assortment of them!? I would prefer the second way - taking the best scripts from kde-apps and post them on my homepage (one day it will get an update *g*). You have ideas what such a programm needs? Let me know!
Anyway, thanks for your response.
Greets,
Sascha |

this should work with amarok. Maybe i will add this feature, but at the moment it is very busy at work, so it looks like that the new version will be released a month or two later.
Cheers,

your ideas are very good, but not easy to implement.
For every audio player i would need a function which tells me, when a new track starts to play. I can't support all audio players out there, so I will concentrate me on amarok (which is my prefered player). Maybe it is possible, but I don't know for sure. I will check it, and post it here, if I find something out.
Cheers,

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Search for title Sep 26 2006 on content kstreamrecorder | Hi,
and thanks for your comment. But I have to dissapoint you, because it is not possible for me to add this feature.
I looked at flatster and RadioTracker (they offer the same service) and to be honest, I am not 100% sure how they make it, but I think that they record a lot of radio stations. When you search a song, they look at their recorded songs and if they find it, they will stream the song to you, so that you are able to record the track.
The above could be wrong, but I am sure that a single application can't manage that, so i have to say it again: No, i am not able to add this feature.
Cheers,
Sascha |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: FreeBSD port Sep 21 2006 on content kstreamrecorder | Hi,
i don't know much about *BSD, but i think that there is no need for a port. Just install kommander on your *BSD and start Kstreamrecorder by clicking on the script.
If i am wrong, please correct me.
Cheers,

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Feature requests? Sep 21 2006 on content kstreamrecorder | Hello,
I still don't see any comments. So I have to ask, what kind of feature do you want for the next version? It's planned for Jan. 07, due to lack of time.
Things i want to add:
- show "Space left on save device" in the Main Tab
- look for needed tools on startup
- install Kstreamrecorder to KMenu
- switch from the m3u streamlist to a sqlite db, because i want to save more stream information like bitrate, type...
- some pop-ups for error messages
- support for playing and recording last.fm streams (using LastFMProxy)
Do you want something else? Please leave your comment.
Cheers,
Sascha |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: error executing Aug 13 2006 on content kstreamrecorder | Hi,
to start this script, type "kmdr-executor /path/to/the/script/kstreamrecorder.kmdr" in your konsole or in konqueror by clicking on the script.
You have to install kommander on your system, which is part of the package "kdewebdev".
But kstreamrecorder is not working very well, it needs some bug fixes. Unfortunately i don't have much time, but i hope that i can release a new version in october.
Some of the updates are:
- bug fixes
- adding mplayer for recording video streams and real media streams
- more streamripper options
- support m3u files
- time scheduled records (it is planned, but i am having some problems. Maybe this funtion is missing in the next release)
- ...
Any suggestions? Let me know.
Cheers,
Sascha |
