darn good
Nov 22 2005  on content Self updating calendar

hey, I just took a quick glimpse at this calendar and... I'm totally stunned! This is darn good work. I actually have written the calendar plugin that is present in KSpread >= 1.4, but it does not do any formatting. Yours is really great in this respect AND you can choose the year (so it is somewhat dynamic).

... I wanted to improve the calendar plugin for the upcoming 1.5 release anyway, so this spreadsheet is probably a good resource (in particular with regards to formulas,...)

Thanks a lot!!!

Feb 8 2005  on poll Best graphics chipset for Linux

I'm running FreeBSD, too. Matrox (in particular G550) cards work very well natively...

I heartily agree with Brandybuck, there is really no reason for hardware manufactures to write closed-source drivers. That's just ridiculous and reduces their usability.

Hi,

thanks, we will take a look at it. Hints like this are very welcome.

Basically some of us had to do with artificial intelligence and looked at a few things, but didn't do any extensive searching.

For forum discussions please consider using the forum on our website. The KDE-APPS forum is not "officially" maintained, but I regularly take a look at this site.

Thanks again.

ok, good. I didn't know KPackage doesn't work that well with ports. So I think adding ports support is perfectly fine - also I like your ideas for that. It would allow any "normal" end user who doesn't touch a konsole or something to install new applications. Basically I think your application is really great for such users (but also for advanced users) since many system related settings can be configured from one application! Keep up the good work!

Besides: can the application be downloaded from somewhere? Is there a CVS or Subversion server?

KPackage has some frontend for the BSD ports system. I have not much used it so I don't know how functional it is, but it would be good to take a look at it before implementing another ports frontend.

CAD on Linux/UNIX
Jul 9 2004  on content QCad

Some months ago my brother was learning AutoCAD during his education. Since we had neither Windows nor AutoCAD at home, I (luckily) found this nice app. And I was really surprised about the quality!!

Since they only used very basic stuff there wasn't any difference for him in using QCad at home and AutoCAD at school.

Thanks for this great app!
