I used Konstruct
Feb 13 2003  on Discussion

I used konstruct to automate the download/compile process and I didn't really pay attention to whether it was going into CVS or getting a snapshot so I'm not too sure. About Xine......
The only thing I noticed was that some files were named wrong and I had to change them to complete the compile. I'm not really sure about the xine plugin as I don't really know where it is or how to use it....

Let's just say that I'm waiting for a new version of Slackware, or at least some binary packages, to come out because I managed to screw up my system pretty good. Nothing major but somehow KDE installed into the /root/ directory and therefore I had to change file permissions to use it. That's probably not the best way but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get a package in a few days. I don't want to deal w/ another day long compile session.

I'm using Xine 0.9.13 right now....let me know how to use this plugin and I'll check it out. I do know that none of my mpegs or avis want to play w/ any of the default players as they once did so I have to use xine exclusively for now.....

KDE 3.1 src problem?
Feb 11 2003  on Discussion

I'm not sure if this is a problem or if it's the result of my own doing as I'm not exactly the linux guru but anyhow......
I downloaded konstruct to hopefully make my install a bit easier. I had a few install errors due to PATH problems and the like but the one that really bugged me was when it got to kdemultimedia more specifically the xine plugin. It kept crashing out of make with no real description of why it did. So I went to the source directory and found that several files that should be named *.lo were really *.loT So I renamed them and it successfully compiled that portion of the beast. Just thought I'd drop a little FYI in case anybody else can't wait for a package for their distro to be released......
