You really need a screenshot so people can get a feel for some really nice work. The set is small, yes. However it seems you have a real flare for this. Keep it growing! |

bat files are windows... it's / instead of \ when showing fully qualified paths (Linux isn't dyslexic) and finally with sun java1.5 and the mysql connector recommended it just hangs if I do
java -jar MySqlview.jar
However... it ran on WinXP.

Kinda hard to believe that 10 years have gone by. But 0.1 on FreeBSD rocked then and still IMHO beats all the other WM/environments on a full blown system by a mile. (Yes I'm still partial to some of the older and very light WM's for older machines.)

I'm running Kubuntu++ (the pluses added by me) with KDE3.5.4, kxdocker, menubar setup to run like the mac bar.
Quin's Xgl/Compiz packages (aka Beryl and Emerald) and Superkaramba to round out the day. I love to hear. "My Mac can do that too" or "How do I make my (insert windows app) run and look like that.
Only things I can't do are, use the multimedia keys correctly(haven't tried, 'spose I should) and can't suspend/recover, but then again neither can any of the same laptops in the office running WinXP |

Tell the masters it isn't art. Perhaps then remove it from the great museums of the world. Bottecelli, Rubins, Latrec, Davinci, Michealangelo, the Greeks. Nah not a one of them ever created art ... cuzzin they was all nudes. Remember these were all once new, all once the works of new and unproven artists.

It might also be worth noting that SuSE and RH both have roots in Slackware. There is also another very important early distro missing. Ygdrassil. This is important because it was the first CD based distribution with installer.
Also Gentoo really has roots in the LFS project and more importantly it was a direct split from Sorceror Linux, not an independent start. Both Arch Linux and Sorceror predated Gentoo. I'd put it as

Finally there are some key missing distro's from the east. Turbo Linux (Japan) Easy-Linux-kr, Hancom and Alzza (Korea) (All Red Hat based) and more. Some helpful info available here http://www.linuxhq.com/dist.html old page but still useful for this project
I'm not complaining.. but in my own inept way trying to add to something of value. |
