| Kudos! Mar 23 2010 on content Veromix - volume control / soundmenu | Very nice and useful plasmoid although not perfect yet. I hope you will get some help from KDE devs since I believe this plasmoid should be included in the KDE SC. |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Part of KDE family ftw! Dec 17 2009 on poll What's the best label for use by 3rd party KDE app | Powered by KDE is more of a user’s phrase (I have a KDE powered sticker on my laptop) than a developer’s.
If I wrote an application I would prefer to be part of the KDE family instead of my efforts being "KDE powered".
Btw, I would love to see powered by KDE gear (t-shirts, hats, stickers, etc). |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Nice work but... Oct 8 2008 on content KDE3TO4 | Nice work! I think though that it has two problems:
- No uninstall script.
- It depends on mirrordir which isn't available for many distributions (ie Gentoo). |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: One of best KDE soft Apr 29 2007 on content reKordmydesktop | Hello! Sorry I haven't write here for a bit.
I just had too much work. :)
I'm working on the next version of the program but due to other commitments the progress is slow.
The progress bar for the encoding status is one of the things I wanted most too. The implentation of this feature though seems impossible. I won't give up of course but I really can't promise anything about this. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Re: One of best KDE soft Apr 13 2007 on content reKordmydesktop | I hadn't translation on my mind during the development of this version.
It is possible by editing the script with Kommander, though it is inconvenient.
I'll try in the next version to load all the strings from a text file. That way someone will need just to translate a copy of this file in order to make the app multilingual.
The problem right now is that I made the app pretty tight with settings and I don't know where to put the new ones. :p
For the resize I imagine it would be best first to capture and encode the video with recordMyDesktop and then, by hitting a button in reKordmydesktop, a new dialog to come up with resize/reencode settings. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: One of best KDE soft Apr 11 2007 on content reKordmydesktop | The systray icon is possible but has certain limitations.
To get it run the script from a command line like this:
$ ksystraycmd --hidden kmdr-executor reKordmydesktop-0.99.1.kmdr
I know it isn't convenient but I'm working on a simple installer which, among other things, will create a link in K-menu and from there will be easy to automatically start every time reKordmydesktop in the system tray.
One problem is that "minimize" won't send the application to the tray, only clicking the tray icon will send the app to the tray. Of course this is something you get used to.
The most serious problem imho is that I can not accept clicks from the tray. I would like to be able to middle click the tray and have the recording to (un)pause.
About the size now, the encoding is made from recordmydesktop which doesn't support resizing. Thus to have resizing we would have to reencode the video with ffmpeg after recording. Also, as every capture has it's own aspect ratio it would be difficult to set the correct dimensions for the resized video.
I will give it a try when I'll find some time but I can not guarantee anything. :)
Last but not least, the renaming scheme will propably change in the next version. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | abount content types Apr 10 2007 on Discussion | If I create an application based entirely on Kommander scripts am I restricted to add it to kde-apps site under "Kommander Scripts" content category?
I think it would be more suitable to add it to the content category which fits it's real purpose and just use the "depends on Kommander" field to inform the users. :) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Awesome Apr 6 2007 on content reKordmydesktop | It's a Kommander script. You need to have Kommander, recordmydesktop and optionally xwininfo installed. You will probably find these in the repositories of your distribution.
Once you have them just click the app (reKordmydesktop-0.99.1.kmdr) and it runs.
If it does nothing (or opens in a text editor) you can either run it from a shell with:
$ kmdr-executor reKordmydesktop-0.99.1.kmdr
or right-click it, choose open with and select (or type) kmdr-executor. |
