well..

KDE starts up pretty well (at least on my box: Slack 8.1, KDE 3.1beta2) by just using "ksmserver --restore".

Try this:
echo exec ksmserver --restore > ~/.xinitrc

...since Konq has now tabbed browsing, people are switching between Slashdot and KDE-Look.org too fast :P

Everaldo please PLEASE add "unrotated" versions of the folders (just as the small 16x16 ones but for the larger ones too)

Would be very kind :)

Hi,

No, the file is not empty.

It just extracts directly to (see above) ~/.kde/share/icons.... , so you don't see any files but if your path for crystal is the same

(~/.kde/share/icons/crystal)

it should extract right into place.

(I was not sure if should do it that way but actually it's the easiest way to install them right in place.)

Yeah you're right, i was misled and didn't think enough about the fact that this is high beta stadium of the new X cursor while writing the above post (i'm just living too much off CVS i think :)

You know if this mechanism is the same or is even going to be used for translucency for windowing itself?

some icons..

hi everaldo,

well other people might be bashing this awesome theme, and indeed some icons resemble XP, but the most *important* thing your theme has is that the whole theme troughout has an a) clean look and b) gives you a feeling of consistency

KDE is even more intuitive to use with Crystal. i am using KDE for several years now, but still had always to look at context menus and read and couldn't "just" click and select because the icons were hard to recognize or it was not clear what they "meant".

i have two hints:

"close other tabs" icon (konqueror/tabbed browsing):
showing 3 tabs, where the most in front is bright as on the other "tab" icons, and the others are darkened out.
it'd be important that the most left is the bright one and almost as important IMHO that it's not only 2 but 3 tabs so you can see instantly that it's about leaving just one.
at all others here: believe that might sound like nitpicking now but it IS important.

then the "reload page" icon (konqueror):
please turn it around 45 (or even 90?) degrees counterclockwise; the way it is now it somehow "feels" wrong (for me that is)

thanks again for this great theme i'm looking forward to Crystal 1.0/final release!

access?
Oct 3 2002  on content KDE3.1

In case you mean my site, i'm still building it now, and just put the pics up there because of the webspace, but access there is not restricted for any browser (?)

I'm using Konqueror myself and in fact created the gallery with konq..
