Hi,
A port of this to GTK so that both QT and GTK can look exactly the same would be very welcome. Perhaps it's a good idea for you to:
(one of the following)
1. port murrine to QT
2. port Quantum to GTK
And then once one of those 2 is done try to get whichever one you choose to be the default theme engine in both QT (KDE) and GTK (Gnome, XFCE, OpenBox etc...). Doing this would greatly enhance both kde and gnome.
O and you would end up with 2 engines if you do this. One for QT one for GTK but perhaps you can make one engine of that..? might be better (or not?) |

Screenlet.. possible but not really how i would like it.. The main goal is of cause to have it in gnome by default.

I saw this mockup a few times now and decided to reply on it now.
It looks extremely nice but some critics as well.
First about what's possible and what not.
That's easy to answer. Everything except the "on-going" tab is possible. on-going isn't possible because you need to read events to see what there status is and how far that is. If you where to make this (i know it's a mockup.. just telling) then you would need to write some code for every application that you want to support in that drop down thing OR all applications need to use 1 way of broadcasting events. A lot are doing this already with dbus so you can get quite far by using dbus but other then that it's just a big pita.
Everything else is possible and some parts are already made (look at avant-window-navigator for the transparent bottom stuff) i actually think that everything on the bottom is possible to make in avant-window-navigator with a few plugins. (look at gOS Space what they did with it)
And for the critic..
How will this look when you open a application in fullscreen (windowed but tking all the space)? i would love to see a mockup about that.
And can you make a flash animation of this? |

This mockup looks very nice indeed and will probably also break al theme standards on linux because it won't fit the default theme.
Then again.. if there is a standard that limits you in imagination than ignore the standard (my opinion).
Now are you gonna make this? You actually only need to make a GUI for the mplayer backend (ffmpeg) then your fine. |

Hey,
this theme is wonderful !!
i just have 2 bad points.
1. make the top corners slightly rounded
2. the text in the app bar is hard to read.. perhaps change that to a little more readable.. or a little more shadow.
for the rest it`s absolutely wonderful

i`m getting tis error:
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include/kde
checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.
i`m running KDE and kdelibs is installed.. all the kde developer packages are also installed.. what can be wrong? |
