| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Great, but... Nov 23 2007 on content Kirocker Music Display | I had this app installed (one of the previous versions) and it was great!
However, it's probably the only app which you can put into a KDE panel and has acceptable look and functionality. Aside Kirocker, there's nothing, you can't even get a good clocks, calendar or weather report. It seems almost nobody seriously uses the KDE panel as a side panel. So I left KDE side panel for Screenlets. It doesn't work as a retractable/hidable panel (thumb up for KDE panel), however at least it has a large selection of applets and looks great.
So it would be great to see Kirocker ported to the Screenlets as well, because it is a great applet and would have therer way more users! |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Re: Re: whats th Sep 8 2007 on content Optixity | Why should get a panel or desktop crowded?? You're using a KDE! :-)
You can customize your desktop in more convenient way than the stupid "Windows" way it is still used. I.e. I have logically separated panel with applets, menus and links from a list of desktops and taskbar (as those two belongs logicaly together and require a lot of space). I have this at the top of the screen, while the original panel is at the bottom with all the kicker apps I need, often used links and menus with less used programs. Yes menuS - I have "Multimedia" menu with multimedia programs, "Graphics", "System", "Office" Pall with links to apps) and "Contacts" (a direct list of KAdressbook contacts). How on earth this could get crowded? It can't, it's well organized. There are uncountable ways to customize KDE desktop apart from mine, just choose one. Unchain yourself from "Windows" thinking. :-D

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Awsome! May 27 2007 on content Ice icons - part 2 | This is absolutely awsome! Most impressing KDE improvement in many months! It perfectly fits to my dark-navy color scheme! |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Great News May 7 2006 on content Katalog | Great news, I tested your app some 2 years ago when you first released it and liked it.
I tried to help with testing and made some hacking to get the look and usability I wanted, but I couln't use it as it didn't read most of my CD's.
So I'm looking forward to this new version! |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Konqueror Panel Apr 9 2006 on content Konqueror like Yakuake to slide into foreground | I'm not sure how they call it (KasBar? Extra Panel?), I would have to remove it and set again, but...
...why you're not happy with the option to have Konqueror, or at least it's "trees" in tabs as a side panel? If you set the panel i.e. left and set (i.e.) to show panel only when you point with cursor into left upper corner, that doesn't cause any harm to desktop usability and it's alway there when you need it!
This panel can show multiple Konqueror trees (even custom made, with links to your favourite folder), but also history, AmaroK controls and many more! |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Locate Mar 11 2006 on content KFind - Thumbnails in result | Yes, with a comment. There is a KLocate and a locate protocol for KDE, so it seems to me very easy just to put a switch into the dialog to allow to use locate database instead of searching disk. Or have also a third option - to locate files in locatedb and display results using META info from files on disk. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Own CSS? Mar 11 2006 on content Konqueror / Internet Browsing | Sadly, I think it's almost impossible. Why? Each web site has a different name for it's CSS classes and it may be very difficult to develop an algorighm to change them. It's easy to use different CSS style in your computer (i.e. for SVG images in KDE, KDE man pages style, documentation style), but it's difficult to apply it to strange content. Although, it's not impossible.
But for the moment let's make a step forward and call for first available option - invert display function (icon in toolbar). It's already available in KPDF and the software routines are available from "select funtion", i think.
As for CSS enforcing, there is a one option available, but it's quite useless due to a fact, that user can't assign a keyboard shortcut for that or put an icon into the toolbar. Then it's very unhandy, when the style is applied where you don't want it.... |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Very well Mar 5 2006 on content Deep Blue | You can never run out of dark themes... Good enough for me and voted that way.
