Re: Re: just white
Jan 4 2006  on content SmoothSlideSaver

Hi there,
I'm having this same problem as others.
I have the configuration all fine, but it tells me it cannot find any images in the selected directory.
OpenGL screensavers work fine for me, as do other GL based slideshows.
I compiled it from source on Mandriva 2006. If there is anything else I can provide to help figure this out let me know. I'd love to be able to use this screensaver!

Re: not of much use
Jan 3 2006  on content Informative Screensaver (mockup)

Usually that's the case, screensavers are used when computers are inactive. But more and more screensavers are being made to provide information while the user is just a few steps away busy with something else. Why else would things like Apple's RSS screensaver be so popular? Even image slideshows are pretty useless if you aren't around..
As far as showing sensitive information, if the screensaver were module based you could show or not show whatever you want..
In order to deal with the screen being static and not really "saving your screen" (though most monitors these days don't really have the same issue of images getting burnt in), you could really just have the whole order of the screen rearrange itself in some smooth openGL fashion every few minutes...

Regardless of whether or not it's a practical screensaver for use as a screensaver, many places are making ones like this these days and it could only benefit linux to have a informative screensaver to combat all the old ASCII savers people are so familiar with...

crashing
Sep 13 2005  on content Amarok

I dont know why, seeing as no error message is shown, but every time I try to play something with the latest version amarok simply quits. Regardless of what engine or any settings it always crashes the second I try to play a song.
All my other audio players work fine, so I would assume this to be something wrong with amarok...?
Any ideas?

Aug 25 2005  on content Throbber: KDE Logo [CCW]

I dont usually comment, but I wanted to agree here. This is a great icon. I'd been really annoyed for a while now at the animated icon that my icon theme has, so this is a great improvement and really ought to be included in kde 3.5

Thanks!

dont port to karamba
Feb 2 2005  on content amaroK Desktop Script

Don't port this to superkaramba, why should you? It works without it, and superkaramba is always slow, buggy, can't deal with displaying icons behind it, uses all your ram, so if you can create such widgets without the aid of superkaramba, go for it! We need to move to widgets being integrated with KDE instead of being a blocky thing that simply sits above everything, blocks everything below it, and slows your computer down...

very nice :)
Dec 2 2004  on content Pinux's Lila cursors theme

I definitely like the style.
I would use this theme if it were a different color, I don't like the pink/purple sorry. :)
Red/Green/Blue/White are all good for me :) haha
Keep it up, I'm sure people will use this one
