| mpeg1 not vcd??

Using konverter-0.7 and selecting MPEG1 format for output, succuessfully convert avi files recorded using my Fuji F700.
k3b-0.12.1 identifies these correctly as vcd-compliant, and I burn a vcd.
vcd plays on my panasonic dvd-rv32.
However, using konverter-0.93 (built under slackware with the notes listed in the above comments), I cannot create a vcd-compliant video file, using the same source.
I have tried using mpeg-1 format and tried all the available audio formats.
no dice: k3b-0.12.1 does not recognize the file as MPEG1 or MPEG2 compliant.
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
How has the implementation of MPEG1 format changed from 0.7 to 0.93?

I can access my motorola v180, but only as root...
The device is /dev/usb/acm/0, 1, and 2 as follows:
crw-rw---x 1 root cellphone 166, 0
crw-rw---x 1 root cellphone 166, 1
crw-rw---x 1 root cellphone 166, 2
User is a member of group cellphone, and moto4lin looks at /dev/usb/acm/0.
anyhow, it works great as root, but as user, I can't connect. Also, as root, I get a lot more info when I update the USB View list. (if that info helps)
anyhow, so far, it seems like a way cool utility, but I have some problem in my permissions.
Can anybody suggest what I might have screwed up here?

I've added the line to /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap:
v180 0x0003 0x22b8 0x4902 0x0000 0x0000 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00000000
and added the file
/etc/hotplug/usb/v180
which contains
#!/bin/bash
if [ "${ACTION}" = "add" ] && [ -f "${DEVICE}" ]
then
chown root "${DEVICE}"
chgrp cellphone "${DEVICE}"
chmod 660 "${DEVICE}"
fi

I believe H&K own the design for the MP40.
I do agree with you, though--its simple mechanical construction is nice to look upon.

Beautiful windeco set!
Just don't like that nVidia green...
I have tried to change the colors of the background of the controls in the top right corner -[]x (forget what they're called; I'm at work on an xp box right now...
Anyhow, no matter what I do, the background stays green on the active window.
I can change colors in other windecos, but not this one.
Has anybody else seen this behaviour?
What can be done to change that green color?
