Re: Re: Re: to people from USA
Mar 13 2003  on poll Is war agains Iraq the answer?

Fortunately, in recent history, this country has not seen that level of destruction on it's own soil...God willing we won't. No nation should have to endure such destruction and pain. I'm not saying that it can't or won't happen, I just don't feel it should come to that extreme of a level.

I'm sorry that most Russians hate Americans for bringing up the Civil War, but it did happen. I was staioned in the south USA for quite some time and I can say that the Civil War is in our distant past, but some of the scars still linger on today.

BTW...'Great Patriotic'...I like that.

Mar 13 2003  on poll Is war agains Iraq the answer?

Do you really think I pro war? I am not! I, and my siblings, are proudly serving the USA everyday as active duty members of her military. If we go to war I will be putting my life in the line of fire along with them. War is the last thing I want to happen. Unfortunately mar does happen, and probably will in the case of Saddam. I will perform my duty for my country. Not because I believe in war, but because I believe and trust in my country.

Yes my original was heated. It was more of a personal 'vent' than anything else. At the time I wrote it I couldn't have cared less if I made valid points or not. I took a personal front to all of the 'anti-American' sentiment I was reading and I acted upon it. As would you.

You want to attack me just because there was no substance in my post? I say you're a hypocrit. For the reason that most of the anti-war post were just as much the same blabber I posted, just going to the other extreme. Yet you did not attack them.

Regardless of the world situation, I felt the open source community was just that, a community. One that could put personal differences aside for a common goal (KDE/Linux). When I read all of the ani-Americanism postings, I lost a little faith in that community. I was upset, and I am sorry. Personal attacks can go both ways, and I felt compelled to do so.

If you wish to continue to attack me, go on ahead and continue to do so. Depending on where you live that is your right and freedom, just as it is mine.

My heart goes out to you and to your country. Not that it means much, but it does all the same. Fotunately for your country the USA was a major player in the defeat of the NAZI's in WWII. In that action we help liberate your country from the NAZI tyranny.

How many American lives were lost in WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, just to name a few...in efforts to stop tyranny and opression.

To say that americans know nothing of war is wrong. Don't forget about our own Civil War. More Americans were killed in that war than all others combined we have ever been involved in.

You have no idea how right you are. I have seen the light. I now know the errors of my ways and I could use a really good fight. Why don't you bring your ass out on the street and let me bitch slap you around a little bit. That might help me feel a little better.

Good Lord man , do you think this is what we look for? Do you honestly believe we go looking for a fight? Give me a break! Believe me there's far more things I would rather do.

I have to agree with you on this point. Sorry about the "Engrish" comment. English is most definately not the only language. I took German in high school and loved it's simplicity...simplicity is something english could use.

Good Engrish :) Din't get a word of it. I will repeat myself. The 'Electoral College". Read it and you will understand the principals behind it. I assure you it is not propaganda (good one). Thanks for your comments...nazi

Mar 12 2003  on poll Is war agains Iraq the answer?

You're right. I have no interest in current world affairs. None at all. You pickin' up on that sarcasm or did it slide on by without you even noticing?

As a matter of fact I stay on top of every issue taking place in the world, because I live it everyday. That's what happens when you serve your country and put your life on the line every day. Unlike yourself, my life has a purpose.

Ha! Ha! I love it. Keep 'em comin'! You see, I BELIEVE in the USA, and everything it stands for. I'm man enough to admit that the USA, along with myself, have made many mistakes in the past. But you learn from those mistakes. You grow and you mature. Am I yelling? No. Am I foaming at the mouth? No. I am simply emphasizing the obvious.

Educate yourselves people! Saddam is not a good guy. He can and will attack someone somewhere again. Should we all just sit idly by and let it happen knowing it could have been prevented?

I am a firm believer in the diplomatic process, but I also firmly believe that option has been exhausted. The man should just simply step down. Let his people chose thier own destiny. Give that control back to them. Democracy = empowerment by the people for the people.

This is one of the best post I have read yet.
