Why check for xorg.conf?
Sep 8 2010  on content Wacom Control Panel

Your tool is great, but why do you expect, that there exists an /etc/X11/xorg.conf? Newer distros ship without it and store the settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ or /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/

I had to call sudo touch /etc/X11/xorg.conf to be able to use your tool under OpenSuse 11.3. Now it works nicely!

Nice app. kio-slave?
Sep 19 2006  on content Keep

Keep should be in KDE4 with nice kio-slave support, so you could add

fish://user@host:/backup

as target directory e.g

For just dragging on the desktop, I dont know how to do it. Maybe a

put on this desktop
put on all desktops

popup is possible, but already quite complicate. For the folders I wrote above, that files in ~/Desktop could be displayed on each desktop, files in .desktop1 .desktop2 etc only on the corresponding one.

Why do you think, that storing files on the desktop is a bad idea. At least, that one point, why KDE and Gnome are easier to use than normal window managers. And compared to Windows it's a big advatage to have the Desktop as a real directory.

Btw. The scrollbar idea isn't bad nighter ;-)

Perhaps you didn't understand the idea. I will make a mokup then for the hard ones ;-)

I also see it as an option, not for default. For the styles you mention I thought about having displayed everything in ~/Desktop on each virtual Desktop and things in .desktop1 .desktop2 to be displayed only on the corresponding desktop. But KDE 4 will have layers anyway, so maybe this can be done in a different way.

KDE4 will need more RAM anyway. Who cares... ;-)

use for clock applet
Jan 23 2006  on content Kontact Expansion

This function should be used for the clock applet. If you klick on the clock now, then you can see an empty calendar. Within KDE4 you should see the calendar of KOrganizer as mini app and it should display meetings as popup, as you suggested. If you click on a date, it starts KOrganizer. Or with right-click you can choose "New appointment".

The KOrganizer reminder app then could be removed.

Please for ALL apps
Jan 12 2006  on content Emblems + Text Tags + Tenor

It would be cool, if ALL! KDE4 applications could use the same labels, so if you add e.g a label in digikam for certain pictures, you can also use this label in KOffice, Konqueror, KMail etc.

There are also Categories in KOrganizer and other apps, these should be merged, too.

Rightklick -> Add label (or for already added labels:) -> Select label is the best way to do it, I think.
