Feel free to use it anywhere. The license is GPL, so it's very permissive. If you distribute it in any binary software (could include slideshow software), however, you have to make your the source files availabe in order to comply with the license. Though the license doesn't require it, I'd just personally like to request that you don't go around claiming to have created it yourself, like some guy called "Booyabazooka" at Wikipedia is apparently doing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ambox_style.png . I don't mind that the image is being used at Wikipedia -- far from it, I'm really happy about that. I'm just not too pleased this guy feels the need to claim he created "the vector version", when he didn't.

Old-school (80's) rap and Miami bass are pretty cool - mostly because thats what I grew up on. Electronica or Classical with no lyrics (distracting) is great background music while I'm programming and need to concentrate. Oldies are great for long car rides because unlike other 'genres', just about everybody knows the lyrics and can sing along. I'm impressed by acapella groups just because those guys can really sing, unlike a lot of *AA artists. Classic rock, is cool because these are the pioneers - it wasn't cliche back then. I like music from just about any genre that has political (especially 'politically incorrect') themes, instead of the usual boring "I love you" drivel. Frankly, I consider Heavy Metal to be in about the same category as 'Professional' Wrestling. It just seems forced and too theatrical to me - same goes for modern Hip-hop. |

Sorry for replying to my own post, but afterward I thought of more to say :-). Appeal sounds really interesting. Is there an official webiste up for it? I couldn't find a link in the transcript or on your website (maybe I didn't look very hard, though). It was mentioned in the interview that artists are among those they will eventually be recruiting (although it was said they aren't currently looking for people to join). In what capacity do they need artists? I'm sure there would be many willing hands available from kde-look. Anyway, thanks for your time, and keep up the good work! |
