Is this project still under development?
The idea sounds like exactly what I need right now. I have had a number of systems fail on me in the last few months and as a result am currently using on an old 1.4Ghz AMD Athlon with 512MB RAM running CentOS 5.2, until I can get a new one. Due to the slow system I'm currently on I've had some problems with music freezing for a few seconds when I attempt to do operations that I would normally consider to not be very high load. Even launching an application at times may cause it to freeze, even if just for a split second. Needless to say, it's annoying since I like to listen to music while doing development.
I was trying to find a program to manage priority levels of applications, to keep my music from freezing on me, when I found yours. I immediately realized it would also limit problems resulting from a resource hog such as the Flash Firefox plug-in, and allow me to continue to work without ending the process immediately.
If your program is as good as it sounds, and I can get it working, I likely will continue to use it in the future as I am a huge multi-tasker and have never met a system I couldn't lag out within a few days.
When attempting to compile after resolving multiple dependency issues, I get the following error message:
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2 and < 4.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.
I installed the following while trying to resolve dependencies, but I guess they aren't what your application is looking for.
qt - 1:3.3.6-23.el5.i386
qt-devel - 1:3.3.6-23.el5.i386
qt4 - 4.2.1-1.i386
qt4-devel - 4.2.1-1.i386
I suppose I could try to find an older version of one of those if you tell me which it's looking for, but kinda afraid it won't work with how new my OS is. |
