| Re: Re: Why? Jun 17 2009 on content Device Notifier support for HIDs | I disagree. If you want a list of plugged in devices it should not be in the device notifier.
Besides, the device notifier doesn't go away by itself, which I would demand from something telling me that I plugged in a mouse.
Why would like the know the address of the mouse? That is a totally useless piece of information. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Why? Jun 17 2009 on content Device Notifier support for HIDs | I have no idea why you would like to get a notification when you insert a mouse.
1) you probably did it yourself
2) What other actions than actually using the mouse would you want to do with this notification
I need a little explanation |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Default image format Jan 31 2009 on content webKam | Is there a reason that Webkam defaults to png format, instead of jpeg?
Png is great for screenshots and other sorts of computergraphics where image-corruption is easily noticable.
Jpeg on the other hand, is great for real-life pictures and sucky for screenshots etc.
Just took a picture in each format.
The png was 5.0 MB and the Jpeg was 0,16 MB. There is no visible difference.
Just wondering.
Great prog! |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: Re: 0.3 Looks great :-) Jan 23 2009 on content webKam | yes. That worked.
Is it not possible to use solid and phonon instead of gstreamer directly?
I don't seem to be able to save pictures. nothing is written to disk and no notification.
I like the new fullscreen mode:-) |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | 0.3 Looks great :-) Jan 23 2009 on content webKam | I really like what you have done with the 0.3 release :-)
I have two comments though:
1) You need to smile more. (especially when you take marketing pictures ;-)
2 Not sure the startup page is necessary, since it people will want to use the webcam when opening Webkam. However I think it's a good idea to have a tips section.
I like the overall design of thee GUI :-)
Unfortunatly I have a problem with running the app :-(
Just installed the ubuntu package:

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Larger saved pics Jan 17 2009 on content webKam | Great software!
My biggest request is larger saved pictures. I have a 1.3 MP webcam. But even on a netbook 320z240 seem kinda small :-)
I noticed the kontrols looked a lot like the ones from kopete. Are you/they utilizing Solid or any of the pillars of KDE4? |
