It's not Gnome, it's not KDE.
Just a thought at how could be an ideal desktop environment: in this fields all the solutions available on Linux lack a strong interaction between the parts.
And please notice the date, september 2006, when KDE 4 was still much far away (not that I use it today, I still prefer Gnome's simplicity and cleanness - and I don't find it to fit my needs/have responded to my hopes). |

Actually this is a choice you can already make in Gnome. I drew the toolbar that way because I have it like that on my notebook (you know, widescreen lcd - saving vertical space is not a bad thing) and also 'cause I like it much more. Anyway users can choose. |

I agree. I'd like a more modern desktop environment. But Gnome people doesn't seem very interested in this way, so I just hope KDE guys manage to put out a great version 4 (with much better face than 3, and than some previews of 4 too). |
