Re: Win version?
Jan 9 2007  on content KCatalog

Looking at the screenshot, it seems lik a Java Swing application. If this is indeed the case, then I do not undertand why it's called KCatalog and is posted on kde-apps.org...

The need for speed!
Jul 24 2004  on poll Why do you use KDE?

I started with KDE, then went to Gnome 2.0 because at that time I found it was much cleaner and faster then KDE. Now I'm back to KDE, because I think Gnome has become much too slow in its 2.6 version, it feels just very memory hungry. KDE on the other hand, has made positive progress in the performance department.

Oh, and the Nautilus spatial mode did not bother me. You can even switch it off completely, so really, all these discussions pro or contra spatial are just useless trolling.

But to conclude, I'm a happy KDE user for now!

problem...
May 23 2004  on content KDETrayProxy

I'm very glad to finally have KDE systray icons where they belong instead of floating around on your screen.

But since I have installed this, I often have a lot of empty space at the beginning of the notification area (thus before other notification icons). I have the impression that if I fire up a KDE application with systray icon, and close it again, the space in the notification area is not given back. So if you start and close such an application several times in one session, more and more space is lost in the notification area... This is with Gnome 2.6.1. I have never seen such a problem before I used kdetrayproxy.

public servers

Unfortunately there are not that many people on the public servers. Makes it difficult to try out this game...

A lot of potential
Jan 7 2004  on content Rekall

I tried rekall from cvs a few weeks ago. It seems to have a lot of potential, but unfortunately there seems to be a lot of work left. It was rather difficult to create subforms which are linked with a foreign key to a main form; a wizard to do this automatically would be a good idea. It was also very unintuitive to move/resize the subform. I also had problems in combination with PostgreSQL: when saving values in a boolean field, rekall tried to save 0/1, which was not accepted by PostgreSQL.

Re: error at start
Jan 5 2004  on content knoda

Probably you installed an RPM linked with QT 3.2 and KDE 3.2. See if you can find an RPM for Mandrake 9.2, or otherwiste rebuild the source tarball or source RPM on your system.

xouvert & kpackard
Dec 31 2003  on news XFree86 Core Team Disbands

xouvert is not kpackard's fork, but is just a development branch of xfree86. kpackard is currently working on the xserver on www.freedesktop.org

As far as I know, kpackards Xserver is not even based on XFree86, but on TinyX or something like that.
