| No map after login Jun 10 2010 on content Wo ist der Eismann? | Great to have that applet back. Just in time for summer in Ilmenau ;)
But there is some issue since the last update:
If the applet is already present on the desktop while you are loging in, no map and no map marker is rendered. Only the reload button is shown, button klicking it doesn't load the map. |

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Filtering in Knowledge Base Aug 10 2009 on group openDesktop.org improvement group | Just a simple usecase:
User Joe is an experienced KDE user and wants to help other KDE users. So he goes to the Knowledge Base and displays all unanswered KDE questions.
Joe can't do this at the moment ;)
If you go to unanswered questions and select type "KDE", the page is reloaded with action="knowledgebase".
When applying a filter, the action should not be changed. The page itself aparently can handle this, as you get the wanted result, when you fidle around with the parameters in the URL. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: A bug tracker Aug 8 2009 on news openDesktop.org improvements - we want your ideas! | Oh, I think I should rephrase:
I didn't mean a bug tracker for each application. What I was looking for was a bug tracker to report issues with the opendesktop site itself. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | A bug tracker Aug 6 2009 on news openDesktop.org improvements - we want your ideas! | We need a bug tracker to report issues. Or if some already exists, there should be a good, visible link to it (e.g. in the footer of the page).
I found a nasty issue, but no way to report it. Or should I simply use the contact form?? |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: partiall success Aug 6 2009 on group HTC Touch Pro / Diamond | Sorry for a reply to the wrong posting. I got a mail notification with your last reply, but it's not displayed on the website, so I'm replying to your initial post ;)
So for your opensync-plugin-kdepim problem: You need very recent versions of kdepim and opensync. The kdepim-stuff was just added recently in KDE4.3 and depends on libopensync0 >= 0.22.
The plugin has the same version number.
At least thats what I use on Kubuntu Karmic. The gentoo ebuilds on that indeed seem to depend completly on kde 3.5 |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: partiall success Aug 5 2009 on group HTC Touch Pro / Diamond | Actually syncing your PIM-Data with your Windows Mobile (Version >=5) works quite well with KDE4.3 - there is simply no gui to configure a sync partnership ;)
If you use msynctool (command line app) or multisync-gui (gtk-app) to set up a partnership, syncing basically works. I had some issues with different encoding and some entries appeared twice. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Version 0.4 released Jun 2 2009 on content Wo ist der Eismann? | As for the refresh button: Stick to the standard refresh icon as you already did. Using those standard actions will give users the benefit of better integration, as it will adjust to their icon theme.
And for other crazy ideas:
KDE 4.3 will come with a geolocation data engine. So an "Eismann approaching your position" should be possible with not to much effort.See this blog entry:

Maybe you can add a possibility to manually refresh, like in context menu or a button in the lower right corner that only appears when you hover over the plasmoid (the comic plasmoid is doing something like this). |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: great work May 20 2009 on content Wo ist der Eismann? | For the input of a numerical value you should use a QSpinBox. See http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usability/HIG/Spin_Box
Of course this doesn't switch units between seconds and minutes. But is that really important? Just Minutes should be fine. All the examples from other KDE examples that come to my mind are using only a single unit.
Regarding the config dialog: You should have a look at some other python plasmoids, as all other plasmoids use the same config dialog, you must have done something differently ;) |
