| Dangerous -y option Jul 21 2005 on content KYum | Note sure if this is the best place for feature requests, but
PLEASE remove the "-y" you add to the yum commands, and add some user dialogue boxes instead (i.e. like yumex). This is VERY VERY dangerous, as when removing packages it will automatically remove dependant packages WIHOUT asking me if I want that !!
Don't get me wrong, I like kyum, but this problem makes it far to dangerous to use in my opinion. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | Re: Re: device brows Feb 24 2005 on content Amarok | Thanks. The documentation then I would say is a little vague on this. For example at amarok.kde.org the handbook states "...The Media Device panel is used for connecting your audio device, such as an iPod, to amaroK..." - Which certainly to me doesn't say *only* ipod.
Konqueror works fine - just a tad irrating when your files are spread all over the shop. Adding this to amarok would be very nice indeed, and surely not that hard given everythng else it can do.. |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | device browser Feb 24 2005 on content Amarok | very nice, but...
how do I get the device browser to work. I have an mp3 player that mounts fine as a usb device. What do I need to do to get amaork to use this (surely its not *only* for the overrated ipod's...). |

Thanks - with you hints I have found the problem. dar was being installed into /usr/local. During the kdar configuration the conftest application for libdar built OK - but when it was run it failed to find libdar. So /usr/local wasn't in the library search path
I've fixed things and now have kdar running fine.

Thanks, but it doesn't help. I used the line
./configure --enable-mode=64 --enable-largefile --disable-debug
with both dat and kdar, but I still get the same error

| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | configure error Jul 5 2004 on content kdar | I am trying to compile kdar on an FC2 system. I have installed dar-2.1.3 and that seemed to go OK. I then try to configure kdar but all I get is
checking for libdar... configure: error: required library not found. Please install libdar.
I have tried various options, including --with-extra-libs to add explicitly the dir with the dar library, but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong ? |
| ![.](/img/trans.gif) | | "device error" ? Jun 28 2004 on content KWirelessMonitor | Looks great... but
I'm using linuxant's driverloader to run my wireless card - works perfectly but when I run wirelessmonitor all I get is "device error" ? |
