| kio slave errors

Ok, I have tried all the suggestions I can find concerning environment variables. When I build digikam from svn I can't see ANY of my pictures. I have been struggling with this for at least a year now and am currently using kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid. It is exactly the same as any other version of digikam or kubuntu.
What gives?? I am not a complete newb when it comes to building from source...Though not a pro either....
When I start digikam I get the blank white background when I select an album...No pictures...just this error:
digikam(26678): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:

See my post above please.
Any advice? I have no way to get get pictures out of my camera and edit/manipulate them until I get this issue resolved.
Very frustrated with this.

Do you have libchm installed? If you have a package based system like ubuntu, debian, suse, fedora, etc, you also have to install the libchm-dev or -devel package as well. |

I have been having this problem for a few months now, and it persists even after I upgraded from kubuntu edgy to feisty.
I can compile and run Digikam but when I click on an album there are no thumbnails. If I click on the Tags panel I get the generic hot air baloon icon and if I click on one of those Digikam crashes. Here is the console output of this series of events:

I like the idea here....But I get a seg fault when I press the download button.
It seems to fetch all the trailers available just fine but seg faults no matter what is selected for download. Also....maybe I missed this in the README......didn't read it....Doh! But the apple radio button is grayed out. |

in the ~/.mplayer/config file
added:
afm=hwac3
now all files supporting ac3 5.1 and DTS are played correctly...Also, mp3 encoded files play correctly! |

First, thanks for the great app! It will be my default video player!
I have a home theater pc hooked to my surround sound system via sp/dif. When I play an avi file encoded with 5.1 AC3 audio, smplayer chooses to play with liba52 codec which only gives me stereo sound. I can select HWAC3 in advanced media settings for audio codec and the sound comes alive with pure digital 5.1 surround.
Now, I would have thought that this setting would be "learned" and applied to all AC3 5.1 avi files, but it isn't.
I also noted that I had to manually find the proper audio codec for a few movie (avi) files....I think they were mp3 audio.
Strangly, when I tried to run an AC3 5.1 file through mplayer from the command line, it console output indicated it was 2 channel....and it selects liba52 codec....Maybe I need to fix this in mplayer????
Can anyone help me here? |
