Re: tech issue...

Thanks for your comment.
>> - the application has no paint access to the deco (just guess what happened on cross user apps)
Okay, but I don't want to paint on the decoration, I yust want that I don't need to paint a background because this could be done by the window manager, if it would paint the whole background of the window and not just the frame. This is also about allowing the "content area" to differ from rectangular shape.
>> - what if so. want's to start the KDE app within another WM (fluxbox, metacity, whatever)?
I see that it would be necessary to make KDE-Apps aware of which WM is running. Problem?

Okay, I see that I could create a window deco + a widget style that integrate seamless. But when it's not impossible for technical reasons arising from the way X, WM and so on works, why not take a different way that is more consistent from the beginning.

Re: brainstorming, then
Jul 28 2006  on content think small and simple

I like that idea very much. It seems to me to be similar to the mac-style menu bar on top of the screen. I don't like windows being overcrowded with menus, tool bars etc. It should be with the tool bars as it already is with the menu bar: users choice, if he/she want's to have the icons within the windows and thereby repeated for every window or in some sidebar or something similar.

Okay, let's have a discussion about this point... do you have, outside your computer, a trash can for mail, one for documents, one for photographs, ... ? You perhaps litter banana skins seperately :-) but you don't do that with different kinds of documents, unless you put it into the shredder. Furthermore I don't really understand why we need a seperate application for storing and browsing emails. This is filemanager functionality! It shoud be a sub folder somewhere in my home folder, and the email client should be konqueror. Menus and tool bars should be adapted to mail client functionality when the mail folder is browsed.

Besides, if I want to store my mail separately, I don't do that in the trash can.

When I browse a folder on a CD, there should really be an icon in the tool bar (or perhaps somewhere else?) for ejecting it. Right now, I sometimes have serios problems with getting the CD out of the drive.

Jun 28 2006  on content Better Usage of Titlebar

Ok, possibly it can be done better, but as I said, it should be possible to drag a toolbar to the title. It's just an option, I like to have options, I don't want to force anybody to something.
