Interesting

How does this compare to graphviz?
http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/graphviz/

I'm using graphviz to display dependencies in assembly lists atm. I have written a small Gambas (Basic) tool to output .dot files for graphviz. Graphviz has very good display algorithms. Does Qanava have it's own algorithms to generate an optimized graph or is it just displaying the graph?

a killer application
Dec 29 2004  on content Windowslike - random crashes

They always say, all what's missing on linux desktops are real killer applications. So what. Here it is: a real killer app...

.
Examples?
Apr 1 2004  on content Kalpa.Cloud

Just out of curiosity:

Can you post an example application for others (like me) to get an impression, what GLAN is all about?
Maybe an example application to demonstrate what GLAN does.

Usually you'd have a frontend GUI app for a backend (lets say a database), where you'd have most of the logic in the GUI application and a dump database just to store the data.

I haven't looked at the code, but I guess, that GLAN does the opposite? correct?

great application

During my studies I have been writing my reports and my diploma thesis with the help of this Latex-"IDE"
Since finishing my diploma a year ago, I did not write anything with latex since then.. You know, when it comes to business it's all about word and excel (well, it's all about crap)...
But now I have to write a report for a governmental institution. The visual appealing of a latex document is far superior to MS Word. MS Word sucks at making a document look good...
And so I came back to good ol' latex and (of course) kile ;-)

Kile

was my latex-editor of choice during the time of my studies... It's simply the best Latex-Editor available. Keep up the good work!

This app is great
Jan 6 2004  on content Scribus

It can do color separation, has the ability to use (little)cms (color management) when exporting to pdf, so you'll get a good impression what a print will look like...

I've been using scribus 1.1.4 for a 6 page leaflet last week just to try it out... There are some small quirks and the text editor really needs serious work.

Don't get me wrong, scribus is already very useable. There's nothing better on linux/unix at the moment. I recommend this app for small to medium layout tasks.

small business
Nov 18 2003  on poll Is KDE ready for the main stream?

We are running kde 3.1 on 10 desktops at our small business over here. Nobody ever needs to install software or fiddle with drivers.

We're using konqui for browsing, kmail, OO.org, KOrganizer, German Telekom native Linux software (using gtk libs) and an ERP system plus a CAD software through vmware.

If there just would be a decent ERP-software using the KDE libs... that would be nice...
KDE is already mature enough to be a rock-solid solution for our business.

I am looking forward to Kontact / Kolab...

So, that's finish?

I suppose... ;-)
anyway... looks nice!
