sad star
Nov 13 2004  on content MandrakStar - Distro Challenge WINNER

The star looks to be quite sad. That might be because of the shape and position of the eyes. I also do not like the "www.mandrake.org". If you could make the star look more happy and remove the link, then I think it would be a wonderful wallpaper.

This is really good work... cute :-)

Only the CD-device icons look a bit too bold and do not fit so well into the set...

More Apps
Jan 26 2004  on poll Where is Mac OS X better than KDE/Linux?

I think I'll never understand why so many people thing that OS X has a better look&feel and is easier to use that Linux/KDE. I tried OS X and I see no advantages. Maybe it just has something to do with a certain "myth" of MacOS.

One thing that Linux/KDE really needs compared to OS X are professional applications from the big commercial software companies out there.

memory stick icon
Oct 25 2003  on content Gorilla

If I might post a wish: I'd like to see a nice memory stick icon if possible...

... oh, and thanks for the small folder_video icon... I missed that before :-)

xmms
Oct 25 2003  on poll Your favourite audio player?

XMMS is definitly the best audio player for Linux ot there. It supports most file types, it is easy to handle, looks best and supports drag&drop within KDE... the only bad thing about it is that there is no icon-feature for the system tray like noatun has it. Xmms-kde consumes way to much space in the tray and the player cannot be hidden completely in the tray.

Noatun is nice, but quite unrealy and unmature. And it seems like there is no development going on any more. JuK is nice, too. But it does not seem to support Modules (*.xm or *.mod files). AmaroK is still in a very early stage of development but might be promising.

first impression
Oct 16 2003  on content New Icon Set

Looks really nice. But some of the colors do not fit my taste, e.g. the spreadsheet icon has way too much pink and purple. But other icons are fantastic. I definitely love the trashcan and mozilla icons

Nice
Oct 13 2003  on content Umicons 2.0

These icons are really nice. In fact, the seem to be three good icon themes in one package.

I think some icons, like the "new tab" icon in Konqueror, need to be redone... but most icon themes are incomplete anyway...
