Titlebar font size
Mar 27 2005  on content Clearlooks

Whenever I change the titlebar font size I get strange artifacts in the upper left and right corners of the window, where the titlebar meets the window border. I'm using the 0.5 metacity theme in addition to the GTK+ theme.

Does anyone else have this same problem?

First off, a "default" implies that there is a choice. Second, Gentoo already puts its branding in all sorts of places. For example, in Gnome, there is a Gentoo splash screen.

That's a good point, I suppose. I guess I didn't realize people still used CDE. Are they still using Netscape 4, too?

Anyways, fair point.

Egads!

A tagline: "Make your desktop as ugly as it used to be."

Seriously, though, why would I want to make GTK look like CDE? There's a reason Motif has fallen at the wayside.

Fantastic!

This is a wonderful window decoration; I think it should become part of the KDE default distribution.

My only suggestion is that you give an option so that the shadowed text on active and inactive title bars is independent (e.g., "Use shadowed text on active titlebar", "Use shadowed text on inactive titlebar"). The way the inactive titlebar is set up it makes the text sort of blurry, which I realize I can change by changing the text color. This would make the contrast more obvious, though.

I'd like to see both a Kile and VMWare icon. Right now they're the only two things on my desktop that don't have proper icons. None of the other icon sets I know even have a Kile icon, which is a shame since it's a very nice LaTeX source editor.

Great job with the icons, too. The fact that I'm using it should say enough, but really, this is one of the few great icon sets. Thanks for bringing it to KDE.

The tree is lovely. However, the same cannot be said for the additional "artwork" surrounding it.

I thought we got rid of all the abrasive red and green themes years ago.
